Background
The Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs develops evidence-based research to address pressing global energy and climate challenges. Through cutting-edge research, open dialogue, and academic training, CGEP supports the development of solutions for a sustainable energy future.
Program Overview
The David Leuschen Global Energy Fellows Program is a year-long fellowship designed to:
- Challenge students to think critically about pressing energy issues.
- Facilitate engagement between Columbia students and experts at CGEP.
- Provide talented energy-focused graduate students with mentorship, networking, and career development opportunities.
This program is tailored to prepare the next generation of leaders in the energy and climate space.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to full-time graduate students (including PhD) at Columbia University.
- Applicants must have an expected graduation date of May 2026 or later.
- A total of 15 students will be selected for the 2026 cohort.
- Accepted students will be notified in October 2025.
